Is the baby hospitalized for aspiration pneumonia?

Patient's question:

Baby is 50 days old, often choking on milk, now has a stuffy nose, a little cough, and hiccups. The doctor listened to the lungs and said everything was fine, but did a CT scan which indicated aspiration pneumonia requiring hospitalization. We felt the baby was too young to stay in the hospital, so we took cephalosporin medication. We're unsure if the baby can recover at home. Is this condition serious? Thank you.

Doctor's answer:

If there is aspiration pneumonia in the CT scan, it is best to be hospitalized for treatment. Since the baby is only 50 days old, if aspiration pneumonia is not treated promptly (preferably with medication and intravenous fluids), it can easily lead to pneumonia and heart failure, further worsening the condition. Additionally, the patient needs to maintain a regular routine, take precautions against cold and warmth, eat light and soft foods, ensure good ventilation, and drink plenty of hot water to ensure that the condition does not recur.
