Features: The "Series Promoting Capital Punishment Reform" can be a specialized monograph, a collection of research papers, a substantial doctoral dissertation, or a translation and introduction of relevant works from abroad. The authors and translators are primarily composed of full-time and part-time researchers from the research institute, with an open invitation to experts and scholars both domestically and internationally. We expect that by launching this series with a focused theme, diverse subjects, and broad perspectives, not only can the research on capital punishment issues be taken to greater depth, but also the issue can attract further societal attention and importance. This aims to provide sufficient theoretical preparation and create the necessary social and cultural atmosphere for the gradual restriction and abolition of capital punishment in China. We believe that strictly limiting, gradually reducing, and ultimately eliminating capital punishment in China's criminal legal system is beneficial to China's rule of law civilization, human rights protection, and social progress. Legal professionals have the responsibility to call on society as a whole to pay attention to China's capital punishment issues and work together to promote China's rule of law modernization and human rights protection. This book selects 28 representative papers on capital punishment and its reform written and published by the author at different times (primarily recent years), which are roughly organized into four parts: "Macro Issues of Capital Punishment Restriction and Abolition," "Specific Issues of Capital Punishment Restriction and Abolition," "Due Process of Capital Punishment," and "Comparative and Reference on Capital Punishment." Two important informational and reference appendices are also included after the main text. It can be said that the editing of this book is also a thematic academic review of the author's involvement in capital punishment and its reform research over the past two decades.
