Features: Exams have always been an important part of teaching. In recent years, numerous test banks for the "Ideological and Political Theory Course" have been published, but they are all in paper form. To explore new publishing formats for the "Ideological and Political Theory Course" test banks, we developed and researched a test bank software. This test bank software (CD-ROM) is available in two versions: Teacher Edition and Student Edition. Both versions of the CD-ROM include detailed user instructions.
The Teacher Edition test bank software consists of three parts: Build Test Bank, Prepare Test Bank, and Draw Test Bank. The Build Test Bank software is used to create a test bank. Users can create test banks at any time according to their teaching needs, ensuring the relevance of the questions. The Prepare Test Bank software is primarily used to store questions. Due to the rich content, diverse question types, and large volume of questions in the test bank (over 5,000 questions in total), users can prepare multiple sets of exams in advance to meet urgent needs. The Draw Test Bank software is used to randomly select questions from the test bank. The questions in the test bank are categorized and numbered. When selecting questions, users simply click the number, and the question is selected along with its answer, making it very convenient and fast.
Although the Teacher Edition can also be used for self-assessment by students, it is primarily designed for teachers to create exams. Therefore, it is published in CD-ROM form without a paper version. The Student Edition test bank has the same volume and content as the Teacher Edition, but the usage method is different. The test software is mainly used for students' self-assessment, self-study, and self-learning. It lacks the functions of building or preparing test banks and does not have a printing function. Additionally, considering students' learning characteristics, questions testing basic knowledge and theories are published in paper form to facilitate use at any time and place. Since all questions are divided into three difficulty levels—easy, medium, and hard—the principle is to place easy questions in the book while randomly selecting some medium and hard questions. The classification of questions into easy, medium, and hard levels is relative and subjective, and may not be entirely accurate or suitable, serving only as a reference for use.
The most significant feature of this software is its support for information that is difficult to present in traditional paper books, such as images and videos. In particular, the input of images can be either single or multiple. The test printing function can automatically or manually generate exams in multiple formats (e.g., WORD, PDF, HTML, TXT) according to user requirements, and can also directly output to a printer. Another feature of this test bank software is its intelligence. First, question filtering not only allows queries by question number but also provides a multi-parameter composite query function. Users can filter questions by chapter, subcategory, question type, stage, difficulty level, and keywords. Among these, the items for stage and difficulty level can be selected multiple times for composite queries. Second, the self-assessment section can automatically generate exams based on the selected stage, chapter, subcategory, and the set difficulty level ratio, with automatic scoring after the test is completed.
This test bank software is suitable for students at different levels, such as vocational colleges, undergraduate programs, and graduate studies, for exam preparation, and greatly facilitates teachers in creating exams.
