Features: On December 15, 2004, the Ministry of Education promulgated the "Standard for the Educational Technology Competence of Primary and Secondary School Teachers (Trial)" (hereinafter referred to as "the Standard"). The promulgation and implementation of the Standard are necessary conditions for the professional development of teachers, a requirement for the reform of basic education curricula, and a need for the standardization of teacher training. To facilitate the understanding and learning of the Standard by a broad range of primary and secondary school teachers, the Department of Normal Education of the Ministry of Education organized the National Expert Committee on Information Technology in Teacher Education to compile the "Interpretation of the Standard for the Educational Technology Competence of Primary and Secondary School Teachers" (hereinafter referred to as "the Interpretation"). The Interpretation not only provides in-depth and accessible explanations and elaborations on the items in the Standard but also includes numerous practical cases written by frontline teachers and experts. Its purpose is to enable primary and secondary school teachers to fully understand the Standard and correctly apply it. It aims not only to know "what" but also "why," not only to adapt but also to flexibly apply it. The Interpretation is divided into three volumes ("Interpretation of the Standard for the Educational Technology Competence of Teaching Personnel," "Interpretation of the Standard for the Educational Technology Competence of Management Personnel," and "Interpretation of the Standard for the Educational Technology Competence of Technical Personnel"). All three volumes consist of six chapters, with chapter titles largely being the same. Chapter 1 explains the background of the Standard's development; Chapter 2 provides an interpretation of the "Awareness and Attitude" section of the corresponding Standard; Chapter 3 offers an interpretation of the "Knowledge and Skills" section of the corresponding Standard; Chapter 4 discusses the "Application and Innovation" section of the corresponding Standard; Chapter 5 interprets the "Social Responsibility" section of the Standard; and Chapter 6 presents application cases of the corresponding Standard.
