Features: Modern electroplating technology has become highly advanced and is widely applied in industrial sectors. From traditional surface decoration to the preparation of high-performance materials or microstructures in the microelectronics industry, the rapid development process reflects the immense potential of electroplating technology as one of the forefront technologies of modern times. However, the continuous development of electroplating technology has always been constrained by weak fundamental theories, and the preparation of coatings with desired properties often relies on trial and error. Despite countless efforts, a universally accepted theory that coordinates with coating preparation and control techniques has yet to be established. This book introduces a new concept of microstructure control principles for coatings, entirely different from traditional electroplating theories, and supports the reliability of this theory with a wealth of experimental results. Finally, it presents a large amount of experimental data on electroplated metals and alloys, with a particular emphasis on microstructure. The database provided in this book is characterized by the simplicity of most bath systems used, which do not contain additives. Additionally, the substrates are made of amorphous materials to eliminate substrate structure effects, and single-crystal substrates are used to study epitaxial growth phenomena.
