Plaster portrait drawing is a method and means to train the fundamental artistic qualities of art workers. The drawing of plaster portraits cannot be separated from concepts such as form, structure, proportion, light and shadow, space, and texture. It is a process of training students to move from intuition to rationality, from the particular to the general, from the to the whole, and from the surface to the interior. As a static object, it is also a form summarized and refined by the sculptor, making plaster portraits easier to observe and study in detail than real human heads.
