Features: The subtle changes in New York, something that everyone avoids speaking about but understands in their hearts. This city, in its long history, has never faced the possibility of destruction. A small team of aircraft resembling human-shaped (geese flocks) could immediately end the fantasy of Manhattan Island, set its towers ablaze, destroy bridges, turn subways into gas chambers, and turn millions of people into ashes. The hint of death is a part of the current life in New York: jet planes soaring overhead, headline news constantly delivering bad news. The residents of Manhattan, to a large extent, are newcomers, unknown to each other. They leave their old nests and come to this city, seeking a sanctuary or the fulfillment of a goal, or some greater or smaller ideals. Creating these ambiguous gifts is one of the great mysteries of New York City. It can destroy a person, or it can fulfill a person, and it largely depends on luck. Unless one is thinking of striking it rich, no one would come to New York.
