Because he cherished life so much and loved it so deeply. It was an innocent, pure love that influenced every aspect of his character. Yet, he accepted it with calmness, even with a sense of joy. Illness did not break him; instead, it gave him more strength. Zi You had a noble heart. He loved reading, writing, watching movies, and listening to music, with countless interests. When it came to writing, he could produce articles effortlessly, without needing to revise them. Because he loved life, he actively participated in beautifying it. Even amidst pain and suffering, he maintained his elegance in dress and carried himself with unwavering determination in every endeavor. His home was a place filled with imagination, and he was always eager to make friends with everyone. It seemed as if the dull life at school was naturally at odds with him. Because Zi You knew that life at school was either about exams or studying. To this day, the nine-month battle he fought was in his words, but heavy in everyone else’s hearts. He was tired, so exhausted, yet he still held his head high and lived joyfully. When we feel overwhelmed by life’s frustrations and confusion, textbooks cannot stop us from seeing Zi You’s vibrant and colorful life. We envy him, but deeper still, we find a sense of longing in him, a strength we have longed for. Zi You has his aspirations, his pursuits, and he is enthusiastically walking on his own path.
