Features: Literature is the study of humanity, and children's literature is the literature of humanity at its inception. At the beginning of life, human nature is inherently good. Children's literature is the earliest form of literature that people encounter. Those children's literary works that have deeply moved children will remain unforgettable and beneficial throughout life. In today's era of diverse media, we particularly need to advocate for literary reading among young people. Literary reading differs from reading knowledge books, picture books, or textbooks. Literature moves, touches, and influences people through its richly fleshed-out characters, vivid personalities, aesthetic power, emotional power, moral power, and spiritual power. Classicism, authority, readability, and openness are the main goals targeted by the "100 Classics of Chinese Children's Literature Series." The "100 Classics of Chinese Children's Literature Series" is the largest systematic review and summary of Chinese children's literature to date. The editors will carefully select 100 outstanding original children's literary works by 100 Chinese children's literature writers from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. The criteria for inclusion in the "100 Classics of Chinese Children's Literature Series" are defined in the following aspects: First, the social impact, artistic quality, popularity among children, and breadth of influence on children of the works are evaluated to determine whether they possess timeless artistic charm and spiritual vitality that transcends temporal boundaries. Second, the contributions of the works to the development of Chinese children's literature are considered, including unique linguistic creativity, outstanding achievements in genre, distinctive artistic personalities, prominent contributions to expression techniques, and their significance in the history of children's literature. Third, the creative attitude of the writers is assessed to determine whether they demonstrate a high sense of cultural responsibility and aesthetic duty, whether they have long been concerned with the spiritual nourishment of minors, and whether they have engaged in children's literature creation for a long time. Second, the "100 Classics of Chinese Children's Literature Series" is the most comprehensive collection of original works in contemporary Chinese children's literature, as evidenced by: it includes representative figures from five generations of Chinese children's literature writers since the May Fourth New Culture Movement; the 100 included writers reflect the multi-ethnic characteristics of the Chinese nation, while also presenting a panoramic view of the mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong; the 100 works cover all genres of modern children's literature, making it the most comprehensive collection of original Chinese children's literary works in terms of genre types. Third, the value of excellence lies in its enduring legacy, and the significance of classics lies in their timeless relevance. The editors will design and organize the series to align with the aesthetic preferences of contemporary young readers and the overall reading of classics, allowing new generations of young and adult readers to appreciate and enjoy these original Chinese children's literary classics that have deeply moved and nurtured generations of children. The "100 Classics of Chinese Children's Literature Series" is not only a publishing project that compiles the greatest works of original Chinese children's literature to date but also a cultural accumulation and inheritance project of significant practical and historical value, as well as a promotional project that revitalizes modern Chinese children's literary excellence.
