Features: In this era, all the cities in Asia are built by European companies, and most of the architectural designs in Europe are created by American companies. In such a large-scale environment, this question seems meaningless. If it really exists, what are its characteristics? Is there a special language, or has this service reached a globalized level? This book aims to answer these questions for readers. Not through theoretical explanations, but by presenting 1,000 contemporary buildings to the readers. These 1,000 European buildings are designed by 1,000 architects. Of course, these 1,000 buildings are not comprehensive enough, but they can inject new theories and styles into the construction industry. These architects are not all highly renowned; on the contrary, some have not even been noticed by their own countries or the world. The buildings selected in this book all possess some unnoticed characteristics. In addition to large-scale buildings designed for functionality, there are also utopian-style buildings, most of which are created by young architects. The common feature of all these buildings is their rich architectural forms and rigorous minimalist artistic style. In the process of construction and reconstruction, traces of late modernism, postmodernism, and second-wave modernism can be seen everywhere. Perhaps this diversity—avoiding common characteristics—is the feature of European architecture. However, it is also possible that due to the relatively limited space in Europe, one side has produced such a treasure, while the other has fostered more rigorous architectural analysis. Or from the perspective of architectural history, it is a gateway to their own/common roots. This book introduces 1,000 European buildings from five regions of Europe—Eastern, Southern, Western, Northern, and Central Europe. The projects include public buildings such as hotels, shops, schools, and houses, and is characterized by its extensive information, practical reference value, making it an invaluable book for architects and related professionals.
