Am I suffering from Crohn's disease or intestinal tuberculosis?

Patient's question:

I was admitted to the hospital in February this year due to pain around the umbilicus and lower left abdomen, and was diagnosed with intestinal obstruction. After fasting and total parenteral nutrition, I did not undergo surgery. I have never had any surgery or other medical history. (Such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high blood fat, and hereditary diseases, etc.)

Doctor's answer:

Your abdominal pain is primarily concentrated around the umbilicus and the left lower abdomen. If based solely on symptoms, the consideration might be ulcerative colitis rather than Crohn's disease or intestinal tuberculosis. However, ulcerative colitis typically affects the rectum and sigmoid colon and generally does not affect the cecum. However, the results of the colonoscopy examination show inflammation of the cecum, and the pathology is consistent with intestinal tuberculosis, with a positive tuberculosis test. Therefore, it can be basically considered as intestinal tuberculosis. The current treatment plan for intestinal tuberculosis is antituberculous therapy, with a course of treatment generally lasting one to one and a half years.
