It is not an exaggeration to say that Lü Dongbin is one of the most well-known, revered, and beloved deities in China. He was skilled in Taoist arts, knowledgeable about elixirs, and manifested across different lifetimes to aid and save people. Out of compassion for all sentient beings, he chose to remain as a terrestrial immortal rather than ascend to the heavens. Regardless of social class or profession, from royal nobles to common people, he was regarded as a protective deity.
This book is divided into eight chapters, starting with an exploration of who Lü Dongbin was, discussing his path to immortality, his life after attaining enlightenment, the traces and legends of Lü Zun (Lü Dongbin), Lü Zun's writings, and an overview of his Taoist alchemical thoughts.
