Features: The story takes place in post-World War I England. Sir Clifford Chatterley, who returns from the battlefield, is injured and becomes paralyzed from the waist down, forced to spend his life in a wheelchair. He and his newly married wife, Constance, return to their family estate to settle down. The young, beautiful, and kind-hearted Constance, though aware that she is destined for a long, lonely, and ascetic life, accepts her fate and willingly stays by her husband's side. One day, Constance goes to find the estate's gamekeeper, Mellors, but accidentally glimpses his bare torso, stirring her emotions. Mellors is clearly also attracted to the elegant and gentle Constance. To preserve the family legacy, Clifford asks Constance to bear him a child, but she firmly refuses. With the help of his sister Hilda, Clifford finally hires a widow, Mrs. Bolton, to serve as his companion. With some free time, Constance often walks in the woods, gradually developing feelings for Mellors through their interactions. Days pass, and Constance becomes increasingly unable to tolerate the luxurious yet rigid and pale life in Legge House. She feels herself dying, longing for the outdoors and the vitality represented by Mellors. The two are drawn to each other, and eventually, Constance falls into Mellors' arms. They have sex repeatedly, as Lawrence meticulously describes, the perfect, all-consuming, and respectful love between two healthy bodies. Their initial physical attraction gradually transforms into a collision of souls. Mellors uses his tenderness and passion to turn Constance into a truly complete woman, while Constance astonishingly discovers that she deeply loves this rough but passionate man, making them a lover of both body and spirit. When Constance sneaks out of Legge House at night to run to Mellors, who is waiting nearby, she has completely surrendered to this feeling. The unforgettable scene of Constance and Mellors running naked in the rain shows Constance rushing outside, shedding her robe, her perfect body appearing natural and harmonious in the lush forest. They run and play like joyful sprites, fully expressing Constance's desire for freedom and humanity. Afterwards, they adorn each other with flowers and stand naked, like Adam and Eve returning to their primal state. Without the boundaries of clothing, the class barriers between them also dissolve.
