Features: This book is a study on the etymology and interpretation of homophonic Chinese characters and words. Based on the clues of 126 phonetic components, it connects 2,071 single characters, classifying them into 271 homophonic word groups through the analysis of sound and meaning. Additionally, the book includes a small number of variant characters and loan characters. In terms of research methodology, it draws on the essence of the "phonetic instruction" and "linguistic transformation" schools. During the derivation and analysis, it connects non-radical-phonetic characters or radical-phonetic characters with different phonetic components, cross-referencing and verifying them with the grouped written forms of homophonic words expressed as radical-phonetic characters. This approach reflects the fundamental principle of the entire etymological work, which is to guide non-radical-phonetic characters with radical-phonetic characters and take into account various structural types of characters.
