Questioning Real Estate - Why Can't We Afford a Home

Features: This book is not an academic work. This book is not a practical manual. This book is a critique and concern about the current Chinese real estate market. After nearly a year of investigation, data analysis, writing, and revision, it has finally been published. It is divided into four parts. The first part can be considered the highlight of the book, adopting a literary approach to literature, aiming to showcase the various realities of the current Chinese real estate market through vivid, real-life scenarios and the perspective of ordinary people, expressing the genuine voices and emotions of the common folk. The second part is the backbone of the book, examining our homes and lives from an economic perspective. Some may disagree with certain analytical methods, and some may doubt certain data. However, the necessity of introducing economic principles lies in this very point. There are many economic analytical methods for real estate, and you can use whichever one you prefer, just as I can use this one—academic discussions are perfectly reasonable. As for the analysis results, the author cannot predict them; only after objective calculations can they be slightly explained and analyzed. The third part is about the "Six Policies." Without a doubt, we have borrowed many theories and analytical methods from economists in the book. This is nothing unusual, as it is all about borrowing economic perspectives—some may borrow theories from those economists, while others borrow from these economists. Those economists are simply building upon the previous research findings of others. As for what is called subjective judgment, everyone has one. So, after reading this book, what will your subjective judgment be? We cannot know, but we eagerly await it.
