Features: The I Ching holds the highest position in our Chinese culture and is the first of the thirteen Confucian classics. In the study of classics, I Ching studies also occupy an important position. Throughout Chinese history, many accomplished figures have been I Ching scholars, such as Yu Shennan of the Tang Dynasty, Sima Guang and Wang Anshi of the Song Dynasty, Su Shi, Li Guangdi of the Qing Dynasty, and Wang Feng of the Han Dynasty. Yu Shennan of the Tang Dynasty highly esteemed the I Ching. The annotations in this book only represent a part of the I Ching knowledge. These conclusions were drawn by King Wen of Zhou while imprisoned, as recorded in the Records of the Grand Historian under the title Zhou Yi. This Introduction to the Zhou Yi is also a specialized work explaining the Zhou Yi, consisting of three parts. In the main text written in regular script, the hexagram diagrams, names, line titles, and line texts are referred to as the classics, while the supplementary parts written in regular script are the commentaries. The annotations we provide on the classics and commentaries belong to I Ching studies. Since the annotations on the Zhou Yi classics and commentaries in this book were written by the author, this book belongs to contemporary I Ching studies.
