Features: Zhang Yuneng's freehand flower-and-bird paintings are a text that carries the legacy of tradition and paves the way for the present. Like every painter in the field, he has gone through the exploration of copying, sketching, and creating. Through basic observation of objects and refinement of artistic techniques, he has delved into the profound depths of ancient and modern painting methods and principles. In the inheritance and development of traditional culture, in the reflection on the concepts and innovations of modern culture, and within the artistic rules, he seeks inspiration for his own scope of expression. His works reveal that the pursuit of the tradition of literati painting or classical principles forms the foundation of Zhang Yuneng's flower-and-bird paintings. The painter is establishing new classics by starting from classic styles. Zhang Yuneng, born in February 1947 in Qingdao, Shandong, is known as the "Master of the Three Flavor Studio." He graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the first session of the High Research Class of the Chinese Painting Research Institute under the guidance of Jiang Baolin. Currently, he is a National First-Class Fine Artist. He has previously served as the Vice President of the Calligraphy and Painting Institute of Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone, the President of the Daxian Calligraphy and Painting Institute, and the Honorary President of the Chinese Art Research Association.
