Features: The rural reform in Anhui has always been a focus of the Chinese people because it is not only pioneering but also possesses its own unique characteristics, exerting a significant influence nationwide. With the care and strong support of the comrades in charge of the Provincial Committee, the Provincial Committee of the History Research Institute organized efforts and, after more than a year of hard work, wrote this book around the major historical events of the rural reform in Anhui. Since the founding of New China, reforms in Anhui's agriculture, such as the "Three Changes," "Responsibility Fields," "Big Package," and rural tax-reform, have always been the focal points of national attention in the realm of rural production relations. Especially since the late 1970s, when Anhui pioneered the "Big Package" system nationwide, it marked the beginning of China's reform and opening-up. Learning from history helps us understand gains and losses. To authentically record this valuable period, we interviewed the former leaders and participants who led and personally experienced each reform, compiling their accounts and the processes they shared into this book, "Oral History of Rural Reform in Anhui."
