Features: The "Modern Economy Dictionary" is a major work meticulously crafted through the collaborative efforts of the Institute of Economics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Jiangsu People's Publishing House. The dictionary was launched at the end of 1998 and underwent stages of planning, creativity, writing, revision, and proofreading before its final printing completion at the end of 2004, spanning six years. This reference book covers more than 20 economic topics, including over 6,000 entries, with more than 1,000 of them being newly emerging terms in China's economic life over the past two decades since the reform and opening-up, which have never been included in any other economic dictionary. The compilers of the entries conducted thorough literature research, social surveys, and serious academic discussions to provide concise and scientifically accurate interpretations. The dictionary is highly innovative, accessible, and authoritative. The "Modern Economy Dictionary" collects and explains new terms related to economic and social life that have emerged in China since the reform and opening-up and in global economic development, as long as they are relatively well-defined and have clear connotations and extensions. It also updates and summarizes previously used terms based on the development of theory and practice. Additionally, the reference book emphasizes accessibility, avoiding overly academic explanations and formula derivations, making it understandable for readers with a high school education or higher who are not involved in economic work.
