Features: Since the Internet became popular in China in the mid-to-late 1990s, corresponding management issues have followed in quick succession. This issue has not only troubled China's media management but has also become a widely issue in the international community. As a new form of communication medium, the Internet integrates mass communication, interpersonal communication, and organizational communication, representing a fusion and enhancement of traditional media functions. Technologically, it has achieved decentralization, dispersion, and diversification of both communication content and form, greatly impacting the traditional media management system. The results are as follows:
At the level of information dissemination, the Internet has promoted the diversification of information while also causing the loss of mainstream social values, making it difficult for traditional mainstream media to achieve their value guidance.
At the level of interpersonal interaction, the Internet has submerged the special identities assigned to individuals by socialization, leading to a separation between an individual's social and natural attributes, rendering traditional public opinion influence and environmental constraints ineffective.
At the level of social structure, the Internet has dismantled the traditional hierarchical pyramid structure, replacing it with a flat, networked social structure that challenges the existing social order, making traditional top-down power management less effective.
The series Innovation of Media Systems in China and Abroad takes the guiding principles of China's cultural system reform as a benchmark to observe the vibrant practices of China's comprehensive media system reform. It uses the rich experience of China's media system reform and the broad landscape of media systems in five foreign countries to validate the goal design and realistic expectations of China's cultural system reform. This book is part of the series, evaluating the formation, characteristics, and evolution of South Korea's media system, serving as a reference and lesson for China's media system reform and innovation.
