Hamlet Reader's Edition

Author: (English) Shakespeare
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-03-01
Features: There have been over forty Chinese translations of Hamlet to date, among which the most widely used include those by Tian Han, Liang Shiqiu, Zhu Shenghao, Lin Tongji, and Sun Dàyǔ. Among them, the translation by Bian Zhilin is considered the finest. If there is anything distinctive about my translation, it mainly has two points: First, it strives to use vivid colloquial language to cater to the reading preferences of modern readers; Second, it endeavors to express the brilliance, subtlety, and originality of Shakespeare as a master of language, especially many rhetorical phenomena that were overlooked by previous translators, and strives to restore them.
