Features: Mr. Ye Shengtao was a renowned modern Chinese litterateur, educator, editor, and social activist. He made significant contributions to modern Chinese education, literature, and publishing, serving as a master of modern Chinese cultural education. Mr. Ye Shengtao was an outstanding leader in the editing, publishing, and distribution of textbooks and educational books in New China. As the Deputy Director of the Central Publishing Bureau and the Deputy Minister of Education, he served as the President and Chief Editor of the People's Education Press for a long time, dedicating his life to the editing and publishing of PEP textbooks and educational books. Our press has erected a bronze statue of Mr. Ye Shengtao in the place where he worked, to inspire our employees and staff to learn from his selfless spirit in serving the cause of textbook editing and publishing. Our press has also solemnly launched the "Ye Shengtao Educational Collection," "A Portrait of Ye Shengtao," and "The Long Chronicle of Ye Shengtao's Life," which have won various awards such as the National Education Book Award and the National Book Award, providing important documents for people to study and learn about Mr. Ye Shengtao's educational deeds and thoughts, especially his ideas on textbook editing. To commemorate the 110th anniversary of Mr. Ye Shengtao's birth, the 60th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance and the World Anti-Fascist War, and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Education Press, we have specially invited Professor Shang Jinlin, Vice President of the China Ye Shengtao Research Association, an expert in Ye Shengtao studies, and a doctoral supervisor in the Department of Chinese at Peking University, to select and compile the three-volume "Ye Shengtao Collection During the War of Resistance." This book Volume 1 collects Mr. Ye Shengtao's poems, essays, novels, and letters during the War of Resistance, while Volumes 2 and 3 collect his diaries from the same period.
