Wang Guozhen’s poetry is positive, uplifting, and transcendent in theme. It poses questions in its verses while focusing on practical life guidance, making it perfect for leisurely reading during spare moments. In this fast-paced era, forget the fast-food culture of reading and instead engage in higher-level introspection, finding serenity amidst the chaos. As one of his short poems goes:
"Who hasn’t had worries in their youth? Who hasn’t felt lost in life? Return, Wang Guozhen, and let you find the sunshine guide for your youthful doubts, restoring the bold poetry symphony of your life."
The publication of Wang Guozhen’s Selected Poems may seem like a small matter in the publishing industry, but it is noteworthy. In a commercialized publishing system, there is often a strong emphasis on catering to reader tastes, while traditional publishing places greater importance on guiding and uplifting the human spirit. As China enters the 21st century, achieving comprehensive progress and sustainable development requires balancing reader preferences with the ability to shape spiritual attitudes—a critical issue. Against this backdrop, Wang Guozhen’s poetry not only reflects the lives of young people and their clear, straightforward expressions but, more importantly, embodies a transcendent, open-minded, down-to-earth, and serene attitude toward life.
