Features: As a special form in the urban development process of Shenzhen, the spontaneous high urbanization of villages within the city has made them part of Shenzhen's urban development. Due to the lack of corresponding urban planning and management, the many urban and social problems generated by villages within the city have prompted the government to resolve to transform them comprehensively. In this book, villages within the city are seen as a special form of settlement representing a way of life for a specific era. The author explores, from both theoretical and practical perspectives, the method of not completely demolishing and rebuilding these villages to seek their urban cultural significance and possible architectural destiny.
