Features: This book includes content such as: an overview of airports, the departmental structure and functions of airports, airport terminal management and processes, and airport check-in services. High-quality service in the civil aviation transportation industry is an important aspect that distinguishes it from other modes of transportation. However, this high-quality service should not be limited to the air, but should extend to the ground, allowing travelers to enjoy excellent service throughout their entire journey. This ground service falls under the category of "ground handling." The term "ground handling" originally referred to a broad concept within the civil aviation system, encompassing all ground service work relative to "flight crew." Broadly speaking, ground handling services should include various services provided by airports, airlines, and their agencies to passengers and cargo owners, as well as services provided by air traffic control, aviation fuel companies, aircraft maintenance enterprises, and others to airlines. From the narrow perspective of aviation passenger transportation, this book limits the scope of ground handling services to various services provided by airlines, airports, and related enterprises to passengers, such as ticketing services, general services, check-in services, baggage services, security inspection services, joint inspection services, and guidance services. The basic framework of the textbook is also structured in this way, with the intention of arranging the book's content as much as possible according to the ground handling service process that passengers can actually encounter. Given the complexity of the knowledge system for civil aviation ground handling services and the limited number of domestic books that systematically introduce civil aviation ground handling services, the framework of this book can be considered a new attempt. During the writing process, reference was made to relevant textbooks from other civil aviation colleges in China and some rules and training materials from aviation enterprises. At the time of this book's publication, sincere gratitude is expressed to the aforementioned individuals and organizations. Special thanks are also extended to the leadership and editors of Tourism Education Press. It was precisely due to their organization and assistance that this book was able to be published. This book includes: an overview of airports, the departmental structure and functions of airports, airport terminal management and processes, and airport check-in services.
