What exactly is prostatitis?

Patient's question:

I am 27 years old. From middle school to high school, I often masturbated. In the past, doctors said it was prostatitis, and I took many medications, but it would get better and then come back.

Doctor's answer:

Prostatitis is the most common urological outpatient disease among young and middle-aged men, with approximately 60% of men experiencing chronic prostatitis to some degree at some point in their lives. The clinical manifestations are largely similar: frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, a feeling of incomplete urination, damp scrotum, pain and discomfort in the perineum, pelvic pain, bladder area pain, pain and discomfort in the head of the penis and testicles. Some may also experience reduced sexual function, premature ejaculation. Long-term patients may suffer from tension, anxiety, depression, lack of confidence in work, decreased energy, fatigue, and insomnia.
