Features: Heart and lung diseases are important causes of mortality and disability in the global population. Since the cardiovascular and respiratory systems are closely linked functionally, they ultimately deliver oxygen to human tissues to ensure energy metabolism and maintain life processes. Therefore, in rehabilitation medicine, pulmonary rehabilitation and cardiac rehabilitation are often considered together. Pulmonary rehabilitation refers to improving patients' cardiopulmonary function and utilizing other rehabilitation medical methods to alleviate or reduce various symptoms that occur after exercise, reduce weakness, achieve the purpose of preventing and reducing functional disability, and help patients achieve the best state physically, psychologically, and socially that is appropriate for their cardiopulmonary function. It also aims to restore and maintain a satisfactory position and image in social life. In developed countries, due to the high mortality and disability rates caused by cardiopulmonary diseases, especially cardiac diseases, research on cardiac rehabilitation has been a focus for a long time, and significant results have been achieved. To address the lack of specialized books and reference materials on pulmonary rehabilitation in China, with the support of Shanghai Science and Technology Literature Press, we have compiled this illustrated pulmonary rehabilitation textbook. With our professional knowledge and practical experience, we hope to contribute a piece of care to society.
