Is this idiocy or depression?

Patient's question:

My wife is 23 years old and got married at 18. It has been 1 year since her marriage. I used to think she was immature and easily fooled because of her age, but she agreed to things I told her with a good attitude. Even with simple matters, she still does things her own way. Simple problems are also unclear to her, and she often asks many foolish questions, as if she had never been exposed to the world... Is she lying or something? Is it because of rebelliousness or because she doesn't understand what others say? Even when she doesn't want to laugh, she laughs in a silly way. How can this be treated?

Doctor's answer:

It is very difficult to change a person's habits. Your wife's way of handling things is shaped by her living environment since she was young. It is suggested that couples communicate more, discuss matters together, and be more tolerant of each other. There should be no issue with intelligence; it is often the different living environments that lead to different personalities. In addition, the patient should develop a regular routine, adhere to treatment, maintain a light diet, and engage in aerobic exercise to boost their immunity and reduce the risk of illness.
