Patient's question:
Married for two years with no children. Examination results showed azoospermia. Vas deferens blockage.Doctor's answer:
Hello: Azoospermia is divided into two major categories. The first type is testicular spermatogenic dysfunction, where sperm cannot be produced, also known as true azoospermia. The second type is normal testicular spermatogenic function but obstructed spermatic ducts, where sperm cannot be expelled from the body, also known as obstructive azoospermia. For obstructive azoospermia, the microsurgical micro-located ductal full-layer anastomosis technique can achieve a reconnection rate of over 80% in the spermatic ducts. True azoospermia is not absolutely untreatable, as its causes mainly include genetic diseases, congenital testicular abnormalities, testicular diseases, endocrine diseases, severe systemic diseases, malnutrition, radiation damage, and drug effects. Therefore, true azoospermia must be clearly identified to determine the underlying cause and treat it accordingly.
