Patient's question:
What is a prostatic cyst? Is it serious? What impact will it have on your life?Doctor's answer:
Prostatic cyst is a common prostatic disease in men. Its clinical manifestations include urinary obstruction or bowel obstruction, and urinary obstruction often leads to acute urinary retention. Sometimes, purulent secretions may be discharged from the urethra. Digital rectal examination can detect a fluctuating sensation in the prostate, but it often appears in the later stage. Occasionally, abscess may rupture into the urethra, rectum, perineum, or perivesical space, causing connective tissue inflammation. If persistent high fever does not subside, urinary symptoms do not improve significantly, urethral discharge occurs, or bowel movement is difficult, prostatic cyst should be considered.
