What is the reason for a drop of blood when I ejaculate? It wasn't like this even yesterday.

Patient's question:

What is the reason for a drop of blood when I ejaculate, and I didn't have it yesterday.

Doctor's answer:

Normal semen is composed of sperm and seminal plasma. Seminal plasma primarily originates from the seminal vesicles and the prostate gland, with 60% derived from the seminal vesicles, 30% from the prostate gland, and the remaining 10% secreted by tissues such as the epididymis, bulbourethral glands, and the ampulla of the vas deferens. Therefore, when the seminal vesicles, prostate gland, or other organs involved in semen production and transport develop lesions and bleed, it results in hematospermia. Clinically, hematospermia is most commonly caused by seminal vesitis, followed by prostatitis, then tuberculosis of the seminal vesicles, and it occasionally occurs in cases of seminal vesicle tumors.
