Features: This comprehensive reference book, integrating anthology, commentary, and lookup functions, has become a valuable tool for students and literature enthusiasts due to its collection of the essence of Chinese literature, as well as its clear and in-depth explanations and rich references. To meet the needs of readers with different cultural backgrounds, a compact series of literary appreciation dictionaries has been compiled based on the original dictionary, selecting outstanding works, retaining some appendices, and rewriting them. This book includes 134 works by 100 modern prose writers. They are generally arranged in chronological order. The principle is one poem with one commentary article, but some works are discussed together. This book uses simplified characters, with traditional characters or variant characters used when ambiguity may arise. Difficult terms or sentences in poems are usually explained in the commentary articles, with occasional annotations at the end of the text. Historical dates related to ancient history are generally written in the old calendar system, with the corresponding Gregorian dates in parentheses. The "year" is usually omitted in the Gregorian dates in parentheses.
