Features: The History of Chinese Fruit Trees: Plum Volume (hereinafter referred to as Plum Volume), was organized and compiled in collaboration with fruit plum experts from dozens of units across the country under the guidance of the General Editorial Committee of The History of Chinese Fruit Trees. In early 1981, the General Editorial Committee of The History of Chinese Fruit Trees entrusted Hunan Horticultural Research Institute to serve as the leading unit for Plum Volume, with Mr. He Shanwen appointed as the editor-in-chief. However, due to various reasons, the Editorial Committee for Plum Volume had not yet been established, and soon after, Mr. He passed away, bringing the compilation work of Plum Volume to a halt. Plum Volume is not only a specialized work reflecting the germplasm resources of Chinese fruit plums but also a systematic summary of the scientific research and production levels of fruit plums. Its publication will undoubtedly become an important reference for research, teaching, and production departments, as well as a significant document for international academic exchanges. The compilation of Plum Volume was supported by the long-term enthusiastic care and meticulous guidance of Professor Shen Jun, the Director of the General Editorial Committee of The History of Chinese Fruit Trees, Researcher Pu Fushen, the Executive Deputy Director of the General Editorial Committee, Dong Qifeng, Fang Chengquan, Deputy Researcher, and Professor Chen Junyu, consultant for Plum Volume. It also received strong support from Tang Zhao, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Science Commission, Mao Xiangkun, Director, and Chen Xiahu, Deputy Director of the Nanjing Science Commission. Additionally, the work was greatly assisted by dozens of units across the country.
