Features: Scales, chords, and arpeggio practice are the essential path to learning the piano and a crucial technique for piano performance. This textbook is designed to help students learn scales, chords, and arpeggios in a more systematic way. The fingerings for the major and minor scales, chords, and arpeggios in the piano are numerous. To make it easier for students to master the fingerings (traditional playing fingerings) for each key, this textbook arranges the material using parallel major and minor keys. The fingerings for parallel major and minor keys are mostly the same, as are the dominant seventh chords and leading-tone seventh chords. The notation for each key only includes two octaves, and students can extend the practice to three or four octaves according to their needs, following the fingerings on the score. All exercises in the score are written only for the right hand; the left hand should play one octave lower. The right-hand fingerings are above the score, and the left-hand fingerings are below the score.
