The Three Preludes, Fugues, and Canons for Piano by Bach

Author: (German) Bach composed, Leng Jia edited
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-07-01
Features: In polyphonic music, the problems faced by three-part and two-part music are vastly different. Therefore, in this series, we start from the students' actual abilities and independently edit the three-part polyphony into a separate volume. This book includes two parts: three short Preludes, 10 Fugues, and 15 Inventions. The first part is slightly easier. The materials for the Preludes and Fugues are basically taken from Bach's Little Preludes and Fugues. Although the Preludes lack the typical rhythmic contrast of polyphony, they contain rich polyphonic beauty in the simple interweaving of voices, making them excellent materials for learning multi-voice polyphony.
