Features: The D minor Violin Concerto is one of Wieniawski's most famous works, published in 1870. The work is divided into three movements:
First Movement, Moderato con brio, D minor, 4/4 time, sonata form, with the nature of a rhapsody, simple and pure.
Second Movement, Larghetto, B-flat major, 12/8 time, ternary form. This movement is famous for Wieniawski's romance. Its theme and accompaniment feature ascending triplets and descending quadruplets in both the melody and harmony, not only equally sweet but also perfectly blended, truly deserving the description of "singing beautifully." The entire movement is delicate and elegant, with a sense of nostalgia in its poetry being particularly moving.
Third Movement, Moderato con brio, D minor, 2/4 time, rondo form. As indicated in the original score with "Gypsy style," the melody is highly passionate and spirited. This Gypsy style permeates the entire movement, ultimately concluding the piece with a brilliant sound.
