John Thompson Modern Piano Course 1 (Original Import)

Features: This book is designed for first-grade elementary students. The greatest advantage is "progressive learning." Many problems that hinder the development of upper-grade students are often caused by poor habits during early education. As a result, a significant amount of effort and financial resources must be spent each year to correct postures, habits, and errors that should never have been developed, even with these efforts, sometimes it remains futile. The old saying "a crooked tree grows from a crooked seedling" applies to muscle control, techniques, rhythm, musical concepts, thinking, and piano practice habits. As a first-grade textbook, it is written throughout in the five-finger position, with only some examples of finger extensions in the later part. If students have learned preparatory piano pieces in their beginner, then any age-appropriate child can use this textbook. The purpose of this book is to lay a correct and comprehensive foundation for piano learning, enabling students to feel, think, and play music based on their understanding of music. Although the melodies and patterns played are simple, they should be made aware that by stacking these "bricks," they can build the largest compositions. Once they learn to understand and play appropriately, they will correctly grasp large-scale forms during their learning process and will not feel bewildered when faced with a perfect whole composed of many interwoven musical fragments.
