Features: Yao Guo Yong Tan is a work by Mr. Shen Yan, recording anecdotes and historical tales of his time. It is rich in content. Initially titled Cuo Yu, it was later also known as Shi Gu and Yu Ji. As he grew older, his experiences and knowledge became more extensive. In this book, one can find the rise and fall of academic trends, as well as the anecdotes of outstanding figures in and out of the court. Due to his frail health, he later took the name Bai Yao Sheng (Hundred Herbs Life) and abandoned the previous titles, shortening it to Yao Guo Yong Tan, meaning "Herbs Concerning the World." In his later years, he finalized the manuscript into six volumes, which are now published in their original order. The descriptions in the book are well-supported by evidence, not mere imagination. Its academic reference value is so high that some compare it to the notes of Xue Yong'an.
