Camellias (Illustrated Edition)

Author: Alexandre Dumas
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-12-01
Features: This series consists of 200 books, providing a comprehensive reflection of the highest achievements in world literature. To meet the needs of readers, following the principle of "selecting the best from the best," a selection of popular foreign literary masterpieces has been chosen from the series, and this book is one of them. I believe that only by deeply studying people can one create characters, just as one must first seriously study a language to be able to speak it. Since I haven't yet reached the age of being able to create, I can only satisfy myself with a straightforward account. Therefore, I ask the readers to believe in the authenticity of this story, with all the characters except the female protagonist still alive to this day. Additionally, most of the material I have collected here still has witnesses in Paris; if my evidence is insufficient, they can bear witness for me. Due to a special coincidence, only I can tell this story, because only I am aware of the beginning and end of this matter. Otherwise, it would be impossible to write a complete and moving story.
