Publish Date: 2006-06-01
Features: The European Union, due to its internal cultural diversity, significant geographical environmental differences, uneven economic development, and resource shortages, shares similarities with China. Additionally, since China's environmental protection system largely draws inspiration from the EU, and because the Chinese public has recently experienced EU environmental standards through Sino-EU trade, we can imagine the value of researching the EU's environmental protection system for China. The purpose of this book is to introduce readers to how the EU actually protects the environment, or rather, what regulations and measures has the supranational institution of the EU implemented to benefit the environment? How have procedures and mechanisms been established to ensure that environmental laws truly take effect? What are the new developments? Overall, the book focuses on how the EU protects the environment, introducing the EU's environmental protection system, which primarily revolves around environmental policies. This is our perspective, and perhaps from a different perspective, another version of the system could be presented.
