Suspected balanoposthitis

Patient's question:

For about three or four years, I'm 30 years old now, married, and I've always felt like my glans was scratched after sexual intercourse, with red spots. It also feels uncomfortable when wearing tight pants, and the groin area feels damp. I haven't felt any itching, and there are no other discomforts. My life hasn't been affected.

Doctor's answer:

Your condition could be balanoposthitis, but it's also possible that it's a sexually transmitted disease. It may be caused by unsafe sexual practices or phimosis.
Guidelines:
It is recommended to visit an infectious disease department for a clear diagnosis to enable timely and appropriate treatment. Oral metronidazole, topical fluconazole cream, and concurrent cleaning with potassium permanganate solution can be used. It is advised to frequently clean the foreskin and glans to maintain cleanliness and dryness in the foreskin cavity. If phimosis or paraphimosis is present, circumcision should be performed.
