The first volume includes works similar to those in the Old Anthology of the Masters, which are frequently referenced by researchers. Each work is selected from the best available annotated editions to date. For a few works without existing annotations, new annotations will be provided. Some books include multiple annotated editions, each with its own strengths. To maintain consistency in style, annotations are generally written in classical or simplified classical Chinese, with the exception of a few exceptions. Both the main text and annotations of each book are uniformly punctuated with modern punctuation marks, and printing or typesetting errors are corrected.
The second volume collects works outside the scope of the first volume. Most of these works lack existing annotated editions. For those that require annotation, annotations will be added. The rest will be selected from high-quality editions for collation. Many of the works in this volume are incomplete or fragmented. During the compilation process, different approaches are taken based on the condition of each work: some are selected from existing annotated editions, while others require supplementary or recompilation. Some annotated works in this collection are forgeries or suspected forgeries. However, if they were published early, had a certain historical impact, and still hold reference value for certain research topics, they may be included with discretion.
Both volumes of this book will first be published as paperback editions, each priced individually and released. After all volumes are completed, a hardcover combined edition will be published. Each paperback book will include a table of contents for the current volume, providing readers with an overview of the entire collection.
