Patient's question:
I always felt I had excessive foreskin. Two days ago, I went to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor said I had excessive foreskin and recommended I have a circumcision. I don't know what methods are available for circumcision now.Doctor's answer:
If it is merely phimosis, and the foreskin covers 1/2 to 2/3 of the glans in a flaccid state, and covers 1/2 or less of the glans in an erect state, surgery is not necessary. Regular cleaning and retracting the foreskin to the corona are sufficient. However, if it is phimosis, where the foreskin cannot be retracted manually and covers the glans in both flaccid and erect states without being able to be retracted on one's own, surgical treatment is required. It is recommended that you seek treatment at a formal hospital as soon as possible.
