Patient's question:
Description of the problem: Sometimes when I go to the toilet to have a bowel movement, after straining, a little viscous sperm flows out by itself from my penis. What is going on? Is it dead sperm, or is it a problem with the prostate?Doctor's answer:
Hello, after urination, milky white secretions flow from the urethra, known as post-micturition discharge. This is a sign of chronic prostatitis, and the white secretions are prostatic fluid. The male urethra serves as a common channel for both urination and ejaculation. The rectum, located directly in front of the anus, is where the seminal vesicles and prostate are situated. During defecation, the rectum generates strong peristaltic movements, and as feces pass through, they exert pressure and friction on the intestinal walls. As a result, some of the "accumulated" secretions from the seminal vesicles and prostate are squeezed into the urethra and expelled. During urination, increased abdominal pressure causes the muscles of the perineum and the bladder sphincter to contract, compressing the prostate and leading to the leakage of prostatic fluid from the urethra.
