Patient's question:
Hello! I am currently in the stage of puberty, and I am not very knowledgeable about many physiological aspects of being a male. Recently, I have noticed that my penis has developed tuberculous lesions, and this condition seems to be getting worse. I don't know what kind of harm this condition might cause, so I am very worried and want to understand it clearly.Doctor's answer:
Treatment of penile tuberculous chancre is similar to that of tuberculosis in other systems. First, it is important to ensure rest, enhance nutrition, and improve the patient's resistance. Oral rifampicin 0.1 grams, three times daily; or isoniazid 0.5 grams, two to three times daily, while intramuscularly injecting streptomycin or kanamycin 2 to 3 times weekly, each time 1 gram, or simultaneously taking rifampicin 200 milligrams, three times daily. Treatment can be administered with isoniazid alone based on the condition, or combined with other antitubercular drugs. Generally, treatment is required for 3 to 6 months or longer.
