Features: The traditional culture of the Chinese nation is profound and long-standing. Based on middle school Chinese textbooks and the Ministry of Education's recommended ancient poetry recitation list, we have meticulously compiled this "Children's Essential Reading Series." Poetry, ci, qu, and classical Chinese are the essence of Chinese literature and the main content of this series. Poetry, ci, and qu represent a process of inheritance and result, continuously evolving and innovating throughout history. They mutually influence each other while maintaining their unique positions. Classical Chinese, alongside the first three, is an indispensable important genre. Therefore, we have appropriately selected timeless works from different historical eras. Additionally, we have specially invited renowned painters to create colorful illustrations to enhance the artistic conception of the poetry, ci, and classical Chinese. Explanations are provided to clarify the meaning and background of each piece, while Pinyin is added based on modern Mandarin pronunciation, with appropriate annotations of ancient pronunciation for word meanings and rhymes. Due to the length of classical Chinese texts, we only add Pinyin and annotations for difficult and challenging passages. At the end of the book, we provide an introduction to the authors' basic information and the writing characteristics of their works, enabling young readers to gain a comprehensive understanding and appreciation. It is essential for children to absorb beneficial literary nourishment from China's classical literature. As the saying goes, "Read three hundred poems of Tang Dynasty, and even if you can't write poetry, you'll know how to recite." This highlights the importance of recitation. Many chapters in the book greatly contribute to the formation of children's correct worldview. This is a wonderful book to help children learn and grow. As you read, you will notice that your child's reading ability, literary cultivation, and writing skills are quietly improving.
