Several round things have grown on the head of the turtle, what is this?

Patient's question:

I discovered several round things on my glans about 3 months ago. They are slightly reddish, with a diameter of 1-2 millimeters, a bit higher than the surrounding skin (less than 1 millimeter), and neither itchy nor painful. However, recently I noticed a few more. The original ones haven’t grown and are still the same—brighter than the surrounding skin. I’m very worried and don’t know what they are. They only appear on the glans. Please help me, doctor!!! Thank you.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, your condition is likely to be Fordyce spots. Fordyce spots are a normal physiological variation and are more common in young and middle-aged adults, with no symptoms. Their typical clinical manifestations include: small, needle-like papules on the dorsal and lateral sides of the coronal sulcus, resembling pearls in appearance, and are white, yellow, or pink, arranged in one or several rows along the coronal sulcus. Some may encircle the coronal sulcus. They are relatively hard in texture and are characterized by being asymptomatic, non-itchy, non-painful, and non-ulcerative, generally requiring no treatment. If some individuals have phimosis and do not pay attention to hygiene, leading to frequent accumulation of smegma and infection, the excess foreskin can be surgically removed.
