Therefore, since its revival in 1995, the magazine has published an annual selection of outstanding works every year based on monthly selections. The editing and publication of this series have now spanned ten years, with gradually increasing circulation and widespread influence and acclaim among readers.
The publication of The 2006 China Novel Rankings was not aimed at seeking a place in the "ranking fever." Our original intention in compiling this book was simply to meet the readers' need for reading high-quality fiction. Based on the annual selection of outstanding works, after careful comparison and selection, we ultimately determined eight medium-length novels and eight short stories for inclusion in this book, thereby highlighting the overall achievements of medium and short fiction creation in 2006.
