How to judge the liquefaction of semen

Patient's question:

Can normal semen contain unliquefied jelly-like particles?

Doctor's answer:

Normal semen is in a liquid state when emitted but immediately solidifies into a gel-like consistency. It liquefies into a water-like liquid within about 10-20 minutes. This process is known as semen liquefaction and is a normal physiological phenomenon. If semen is expelled from the body and remains in a gel-like state for more than 30 minutes, it is considered a pathological condition and is referred to as semen non-liquefaction.
