Features: Liang Zongdai has a profound foundation in traditional Chinese culture and a deep love for Chinese culture. Although he entered the French literary scene at a young age with a distinguished demeanor, his roots were first and always in Chinese cultural soil. When reviewing Western literature, he always used corresponding Chinese examples for comparison and explanation. Conversely, when discussing Chinese literature or writers, he often drew on Western literary theories and examples. He moved freely between Chinese and Western cultures, neither arrogant nor humble, which infused his works with vitality, making them resistant to the erosion of time. Even now, when read, they remain fresh, elegant, and untainted. The selected works in this collection span Liang Zongdai's various creative stages, with a larger portion dedicated to his peak period. They are divided into four parts: poetry, literary criticism, translated poems, and translated texts. All articles have been reproofread according to the versions Liang Zongdai reviewed before his passing, with necessary annotations added. To preserve the original form of the works, except for the fragment of Faust, no cuts were made to the articles in this collection. However, this also meant certain important long essays had to be omitted.
